A Little More About What You Will be Doing
The Cardiac Sonographer Level I, supports patient care by performing echocardiogram procedures as directed by the physician. Demonstrates proficiency with the use of ultrasound equipment and associated procedures. This position performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running efficiently.
Performs a range of technical procedures to support physician’s diagnosis
Appropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician
Reviews physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed
Retrieve studies from PACS for review
Assures accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for physician reports
Education
High school diploma or GED required
Graduation from a CAAHEP or other accredited diagnostic ultrasound program required
Experience
- 1 year of experience in the field preferred
Licenses/Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI preferred
