Cedars-Sinai Cardio Sonographer II (per diem) - Cardiology in Beverly Hills, California
The Cardiac Sonographer II,
supports patient care by performing echocardiogram procedures as directed by
the physician. Demonstrates proficiency
with the use of ultrasound equipment and associated procedures. This position performs routine administrative
and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health
practitioners running smoothly.
ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Demonstrates clinical competency and technical
skills as Sonographer
Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound
equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request.
Performs a variety of technical procedures that
will require independent judgment for diagnosis
Demonstrate capability to provide high quality
about advanced imaging features to support enhanced capturing of data
acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary
reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings
to the interpreting physician
to review a physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed
Acts as a role model in providing care; assists
in precepting Cardio Sonographers I.
Aids in new staff orientation
to retrieve studies from PACS for review
standardize work practices
Perform appropriate infection control processes
Provide an environment of care that supports
patient educational needs as pertains to requested studies
Prepare patients for the study
Supports IAC Standards and Guidelines
Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory
accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for
Support team approach and service focus work with
colleagues in a "team approach" to encourage a positive and
service-oriented image for the department.
Respond to requests in a timely and professional manner.
Utilize professional language and action at all times.

Three (3) years’ experience performing echocardiographic studies is required.
Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
is required. BLS from American Heart Association is required.

communication skills, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of anatomy,
physiology and anatomical variations as it relates in acquiring diagnostic
information. Knowledge of
computer, equipment, systems and software. Working knowledge of
Cardio PACS system. Knowledge of physical
principles and instruments in sonography. Maintains
department objectives and goals.
