Cedars-Sinai Radiology Tech CRT - Urgent Care in Beverly Hills, California
The Radiology Tech CRT I supports patient care by performing x-rays as directed by physician/clinician for diagnostic purposes. Additionally, this position performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. The responsibilities of this position are concurrent with CSMCF guidelines.
•Demonstrates clinical competency and technical skills as a CRT
•Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures, positioning patients on the examining table and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum views of specific body area as ordered by clinician
•Performs procedures based on established technique chart using independent judgment to support the radiological orders
•Follow standardized imaging practices and protocols
•Basic understanding of patient care flow and insurance concepts
•Use appropriate technique charts
•Assure markers are set appropriately
•Ability to retrieve studies from PACS for review
•Perform appropriate equipment QC
•Maintain needed logs for QC based on manufacturer recommendation
•Provide patient education as pertains to requested studies
•Perform appropriate infection controls processes
•Maintain current California Radiologic Technician license
•Performs other duties as assigned
May assist the clinician during examinations and/or minor surgeries.
May keep exam and/or procedure rooms stocked with adequate medical - surgical supplies, maintain instruments, perform sterilization as required.
May prepare patients for provider by reviewing current medications and record in medical record as needed.
May escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs and document information in patient’s chart.
May perform designated diagnostic tests as directed by provider.
The Radiologic Technician I should have strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and teamwork skills. It is vital that the Radiologic Technician I demonstrate the ability to learn and to work with co-workers as part of a team.
High school diploma required.
California Radiologic Technician required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required. BLS/CPR certification required.
X-Ray Technician experience in a clinical setting
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to prepare the patients for X-Ray procedures
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong understanding of computer system
Understanding of PACS
Strong verbal and writing skills
Strong customer service and teamwork skills
Ability to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
Ability to follow directions and to pay attention to details
Ability to perform radiological procedures maintaining patient privacy and dignity
Ability to separate and prioritize patients needing stat or urgent studies from routine studies
Ability to handle provider correspondence regarding reports, stored films and outside records
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and anatomical variations as it relates in acquiring diagnostic information
