Summary of Essential Duties:
As a Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner, you will provides services in the inpatient and outpatient setting, including managing, planning, and coordinating of all aspects of care for patients
Provide consultative services within the scope of service
Obtain and perform history and physical examinations
Record and interpret pertinent data (i.e., labs, diagnostic studies, progress notes, etc.), including writing orders
Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients
Write progress notes, collate records using the electronic medical record
Coordinate ongoing overall patient care with physician, staff, nursing staff and other ancillary care providers to ensure treatment plans are implemented
Maintain communication with patients and families regarding care
Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to deliver care appropriate to the appropriate patient population, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed
Serve as a patient advocate throughout the care process, and represents the medical center at regional and national meetings/conferences
Position schedule: Monday - Friday
Qualifications
Education:
Master of Nursing Degree required
Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program required
License/Certifications:
Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License required
National Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by respective accredited professional nursing organization such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) required
Current NP Furnishing License required
DEA license required
ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
AGACNP strongly preferred
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience required
At least 2 years of experience managing vascular surgery patient population preferred
Inpatient NP experience
Professional experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
