Cedars-Sinai Accounting Supervisor - Finance in Encino, California
The Supervisor is responsible for general ledger maintenance and preparation of all financial statements for all affiliate groups supported by Cedars-Sinai Medical Delivery Network. Supervises the preparation of all financial statements used for senior management reporting. Ensures timely and accurate completion of all account reconciliations each month for each reporting entity. Takes the lead role in the preparation of all analysis and supporting documents needed to support internal and external audits.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
•Responsible for supervising the preparation of all stand-alone affiliate monthly financial statements including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements
•Performs supervisory accounting functions involving the application of established accounting standards, principles and practices.
•Supervises all GL activity for each affiliate group
•Supervises the preparation and input of all monthly journal entries
•Performs financial analysis of operations.
•Supervises and assists with the preparation of all monthly account and bank reconciliations for stand-alone entities
•Provides high level assistance with the preparation of tax filings and audit work papers for both internal and external auditors as needed.
•Supervises all stand-alone affiliate banking activity
•Participates in professional development activities.
•Maintains confidentiality of patient, employee and corporate financial records.
•Develops and coaches’ staff to ensure they have the skills necessary for optimum performance
Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 7
– 10 years’ relevant work experience in Finance or Accounting departments or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPA a plus but not required.
Strong supervision and prior management skills are required.
Healthcare financial management experience is highly preferred. Must have a broad understanding of healthcare financial reporting.
Tax background/experience highly preferred.
Ability to manage
lead and staff level personnel.
- Ability to provide financial data for
analytical evaluation of business operations.
- Knowledge of PC
applications including advance excel skills is required. Advanced Excel and Access experience is preferred.
- Must be organized
and able to meet ongoing as well as special time deadlines and work under
