Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the close direction and supervision of the Chief Engineer, Supervisor, Lead or other designee, the Stationary Engineer Apprentice operates the machinery that provides uninterrupted mechanical power and utility services to the medical center. Sets priorities and handles multiple projects or assignments and meets completion schedules within established objectives. Complete assigned service workorders, and preventive maintenance using the department workorder system. Uses various hand tools and testing instruments to accomplish assigned tasks. Reports appropriate corrections/repairs and makes referrals to the appropriate Supervisor, Lead, Hospitality Center or specialty shops. Performs other related duties as required. All work performed under this job description is under the close direct supervision of the designated Lead Craft Specialist and Operations Supervisor.
A High School Diploma/GED/Vocational/Technical Diploma highly preferred.
Minimum six (6) months of general maintenance experience required.
Experience working in a healthcare facility/Hospital highly preferred.
Unlimited Steam Engineer License – Issued by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety with in two years.
