The Enterprise Information Services (EIS) team at Cedars-Sinai understands that

Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Manager of Data Quality & Governance (DQG), this position supports the Institution’s Data Quality Management program. The goal is to improve data integrity and information usability for internal decision making and for the increasing external data demands. This is accomplished by applying data quality management principles in cross functional settings specifically across the administrative and financial information supply chain. The Senior Database Analyst will interact with various business data owners, data production system staff, data analysts, and decision makers to develop and implement proactive data quality practices.
Perform data and process validations for both recurring and ad hoc data loads and analytics for customers within the department, and more broadly within Cedars-Sinai as needed.
Resolve data quality incidents reported to DQG from data users across Cedars-Sinai.
Develop and implement proactive data quality monitoring procedures and practices.
Support, monitor, and extend the effectiveness of systems and database infrastructures used by DQG.
Innovate and provide collaborative leadership for DQG in the development of automation, proactive data quality initiatives and business process improvements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, a quantitative discipline in science, Health Administration, Public Health or related healthcare field.
Minimum of 3 years of relational database programming experience such as Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL; Master’s degree may substitute for work experience.
What else are we looking for?
Experience in the acute health care setting functioning in the role of a data analyst preferred.
Experience in facilitating performance improvement projects preferred.
Demonstrated understanding in data/information quality principles and practices.
Knowledgeable in data quality/governance tools such as Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) desirable.
Knowledgeable in business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Crystal, and Business Objects desirable.
Knowledgeable in database development cycle including requirements gathering, modeling, coding, and testing.
Strong problem-solving skills and persistence to solve difficult problems.
Ability to work in teams, ability to work independently, ability to follow directions, ability to manage completion of multiple tasks within specified time frames.
Normal physical requirements for routine administrative responsibilities carried out at a desk.
