Cedars-Sinai Deskside Services Tech II in Los Angeles, California
Provides technical support by performing installation, repair, and preventative maintenance IT equipment and related software/hardware. Trouble shoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems. Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps. Screens, refers, and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of IT equipment utilizing experience and understanding of Cedars-Sinai's MIS environment. Educational Requirements:
High School Graduate or a completed GED
A+ Hardware & Software or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification
Must have a good understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet and TCP/IP and demonstrated experience with multiple platforms including Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista, Windows Mobile and Mac OS 9x to 10x.
Must be a strong team player and have demonstrated experience in working directly with end-user customers and vendors
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills to ensure effective communications with Cedars-Sinai end-users and strong analytical & problem solving skills to effectively resolve end-user issue
Additional manufacturers’ support certifications may be required as needed (e.g. HP, Dell, Lenovo, Apple, Xerox etc.)
- 3 years experience or an equivalent combination of education/certifications and experience in providing Deskside support to end-users’ computer hardware (i.e. desktops, laptops, laser jet printers, handheld devices), computer software (i.e. Microsoft Suite, Outlook email, Anti-virus), and wireless connectivity.
Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs of computer equipment and must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle in order to travel to off-campus locations in support of Cedars-Sinai end-users. May also be required to work at construction sites and in small spaces.
