Cedars-Sinai Exec Dir, Academic & Leadership Search in Los Angeles, California

The Executive Director, Academic and Leadership Search (ED) will lead the internal executive search unit, focusing on the top 10 percent of academic and executive positions. The ED will lead and further develop a small team focused on recruiting the most senior level assignments for administrative executives, academic physicians and scientists for Cedars-Sinai, including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Cedars-Sinai Medical Network, Academic Affairs, and the Marina Del Rey Hospital.

The ED will serve as a trusted advisor and key confidant to the executive leadership of the Cedars-Sinai organization, providing a strategic vision for the executive search function and partnering with key leaders of the institution to identify and address critical executive recruitment efforts. S/he will further develop and oversee a "concierge" approach to the recruitment and onboarding of high caliber, impactful executives and physician leaders.

The ED will serve as a brand ambassador and will represent Cedars-Sinai’s culture and mission in the marketplace. Importantly, the ED will provide high touch, end-to-end recruitment, including long-term onboarding support to ensure a seamless transition and assimilation to the Cedars-Sinai organization.

The ideal candidate for the executive director, academic and leadership search role will have a proven track record of recruiting academic and executive leaders in a sophisticated healthcare environment, though there will be flexibility as to industry experience and depth of experience in recruiting for candidates who meet other criteria and have a track record of delivering superior outcomes. The successful placement will have the gravitas, credibility and emotional intelligence to build long-term relationships internally with senior executives, physicians and key stakeholders at all levels, as well as globally with industry-leading senior executives and physicians. S/he will have strong knowledge of the executive search market and the ability to select the best firm to execute critical assignments. The ED will be a master of collaborating with leaders to identify and address complex recruiting challenges, with an understanding of talent management best practices to support the growth and development of recently hired executives.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

Ten or more years of experience recruiting top talent

Ideally in the healthcare industry or academia.

Five or more years leading end-to-end recruitment processes

Lack of recruitment experience may be offset with in-depth knowledge of academic healthcare and a track record of success partnering with senior executives/physician leaders to create organizational impact as a consultant or in another advisory capacity.

Experience recruiting physician leaders is highly preferred

Possesses the ability to speak the same language, grasp complex concepts and assess the cultural fit of high level physicians.

Bachelor's degree required

Master's degree preferred in human resources, business administration, health administration or related field.
