Cedars-Sinai Financial Services Specialist in Los Angeles, California

Summary Of Essential Job Duties:

Provides financial support to the Comprehensive Transplant

Center.

  • Ensures compliance with theorganization's financial procedures.

  • Verifies and obtains insurance authorizations prior to Evaluation,Transplantation, transplant related procedures, diagnostic tests, andconsults.

  • Assists with patient insurancebilling and reimbursement.

  • Facilitatesinpatient admission of patients for transplant, hospital to hospital transfersand direct admits from clinic.

  • Providesfinancial counseling to patients and their families.

  • Monitors and identities changes inregulations and legislation with regard to 3rd party reimbursement for organtransplantation and surgical procedures.

  • Documents all necessary information in CS-Link/Phoenix.

  • Ensures that all insurance information inCS-Link/Phoenix is current and correct.

Education:

High School diploma, Bachelors degree preferred

Experienced preferred:

  • Minimum 3 years healthcare Insurance eligibility, verification, transplant billing/collections experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of Transplant Case Rates, cashing billing regulations, and collection practices.

Skills:

  • Problem-solving ability is essential.

  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and medical terminology skills.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Experience in a medical office setting/scheduling of patients.

  • Thorough demonstrated knowledge in Managed Care, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Capitation Admission requirements.
