What will you be doing in this role?
The Image Guided Surgery Technician I (IGS Technician I) is under the supervision of the Image Guided Surgery Lead.
The IGS Technician I is assigned to perform technical duties, assist with procedures and has the responsibility to ensure smooth team work through application of knowledge and effective communication. The IGS Technician I provides care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care/Practice, Plan for Provision of Care of Patients, CSMC Code of Conduct and the CSMC Corporate Integrity Policy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and physiology pertaining to surgeries requiring use of image guided systems.
Demonstrates knowledge of surgical and clinical techniques.
Provide support for products, devices and navigation systems used during cases.
Responsible to debrief at time of shift change.
Demonstrates clinical competency and technical skills for general and specialty population. Carries out all assignments and procedures as directed by lead.
Demonstrates knowledge of moving, assembling equipment and positioning patients when using image guided equipment.
Retrieving patient data from MRI / CT via hospital network or CD media.
Loading archived data onto the image guided platform.
Identify fiducial and anatomical landmarks for pre-operative registration.
Understands and implements scanning protocols to assure maximum efficiency.
Is flexible and demonstrates the ability to function in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Uses two identifiers when transporting patient between units/departments.
Maintains specific competencies and complies with safety standards.
Assists in increasing patient safety by identifying fall risks.
Responsible for cleaning and preparing equipment for surgery.
Maintain organized and clean working environments and storage cabinets.
Job Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma/GED
Associate/College degree - preferred
Licensure/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
Work Experience:
- At least One (1) years experience working in a healthcare/surgery/operating room environment
