Cedars-Sinai Lead Craft Specialist, Electric Shop - Full Time in Los Angeles, California

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

The Lead Craft Specialist, Electric Shop repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical equipment and appliances, using hand tools and testing equipment to supply electrical power to lighting and equipment operations. Supervises, sets priorities and handles multiple projects or assignments and meets completion schedules within established time frames. Performs preventive maintenance. Uses various hand tools and testing instruments to accomplish assigned tasks. Takes ab active leadership role in quality control, training and development and implementation of the department objectives. As appropriate, provides directions and gives assistance to Craft Specialists and Senior Craftworkers. Performs other related duties as required.

Educational Requirements:

Completion of high school or an equivalent trade school with related specialty or a comparable level of education and experience is required.

License/certification Requirements:

C-10 California Electrical License -or- Certified General Electrician from The State of California.


A minimum of 2 years at an apprentice level of the craft or trade is required. Able to read blueprints and schematics.

Electrical and mechanical background is required.

Progressively responsible experience demonstrating ability to supervise, set priorities and handle multiple projects or assignments and meet completion schedules within established time frames.

Hospital experience preferred.

Must read, write, speak English and be able to read training documents. Thorough knowledge and experience on drawing schematics, laying out work, trouble shooting of equipment and machinery is required.

Supervisory or Foreman’s experience is an asset for this position.
