As our Leave Specialist, you will facilitate the overall Leave Disability Management/Return to Work administration and continuity of practice of Cedars-Sinai's disability management processes. You will facilitate the interactive process (IAP) to identify reasonable accommodation(s) and the return to work of ill and/or injured employees as seamlessly and expeditiously as possible. Using established and recognized principles of disability case management in order to achieve these goals, you will be the primary liaison between the employee, health care provider(s), department management, and Human Resources. You will collaborate and advise on return to work and accommodation issues among all parties.
You will help ill and injured employees through the disability management process, assisting with leave and workplace accommodations under the Family Medical Leave Act, the California Family Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Employment and Housing Act, and workers compensation laws.
You will use return-to-work strategies that are cost effective for Cedars-Sinai, as well as productive and meaningful for the employees. Your input will be an important catalyst in refining, developing and promoting these strategies as needed.
You'll help employees by assessing the employee’s skills and any work restrictions, while you develop job search plans to facilitate identification of reasonable accommodation(s) and/or timely and safe return to work.
You'll make sure our work follows the requirement to accommodate by developing alternative strategies.
You'll provide ongoing consultation, support and problem-solving assistance to the employee and manager on the return-to-work process and temporary transitional assignments.
You will train HR and management on disability and return to work-related topics.
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3 years of direct experience indisability management, return to work administration, reasonable accommodationsand the interactive process required.
5 years of Human Resources experience preferred.
