Cedars-Sinai Management Assistant I - Performance Improvement - Full-Time (Day Shift) in Los Angeles, California
Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Under general supervision of a Director or designee and following established practices, policies and guidelines provides administrative support in a department or sub-unit, performing general clerical and administrative duties which may include responsibility for specific business activities of the office such as human resources, budget and finance, supplies and inventory, etc.
The Management Assistant I (MA I) applies a detailed knowledge of the areas of assigned responsibility, and a general knowledge of the department functions and its interrelation with the larger Health System organization. The incumbent ensures the timely completion of work assignments in accord with established timelines.
One to two years progressively responsible office and administrative experience.
Demonstrated ability to compose simple business letters.
Ability to type proficiently (50-60 WPM).
Ability to edit material and ensure correct punctuation, spelling and grammar.
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
Must possess a minimum computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windows or a comparable system (specifically including keyboarding and mouse skills).
Must additionally possess a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation development, E-mail browsers and online reporting.
Knowledge and understanding of the organization, functions, policies and procedures of the Department, and the inter-relationship with the larger Cedars-Sinai Health System, and the ability to apply the knowledge to the work of the office.
Experience demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks frequently with short timelines, to prioritize and organize work, and to complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner.
Ability to interact effectively with Managers, Directors, internal staff, patients and representatives of public agencies and businesses.
A comparable level of education, training and experience.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Two years of college coursework in business, accounting, computer operation and applications preferred.
