Cedars-Sinai Management Assistant II - Hematopathology in Los Angeles, California
As a Management Assistant II for the Hematopathology Office, you will serve as the primary admin support to four Pathologists.
In this role you are consistently overseeing requests from physicians, fellows and residents. Responding to telephone and direct requests for information regarding patient cases.
If you have an interest working within a lab setting this is a great opportunity as you will work closely with the Pathologists printing patient results and reports, calling other hospitals to request slides and sample accessioning. This position requires a significant use of independent judgement.
Other responsibilities include:
scheduling monthly meetings
taking meeting minutes
typing patient reports for Hematopathology Office Pathologists
preparing reports and correspondence
coordinating scheduling of platelet aggregometry and processing of bone marrow slides
accessioning samples, printing patient results and reports, sending and receiving patient sample materials to and from other institutions
assisting with special project management
•High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required
•Bachelor's Degree Preferred
•Minimum 2 years of office and administrative experience required
•Past experience in a pathology department extremely helpful
•Knowledge of word processing systems required including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
•Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and use of the Dictaphone preferred
•Typing speed of 50 WPM
•Strong interpersonal and customer service skills necessary.
