Cedars-Sinai Medical Laboratory Assistant - Clinical & Support Services - Full Time - Days in Los Angeles, California

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Pathology, Clinical & Support Services has an opening for a Medical Lab Assistant. The Medical Lab Assistant (MLA) responsibilities may include receiving, accessioning, logging in, processing and distributing laboratory specimens. The MLA activities include operational and support functions, media and supply inventory, PeopleSoft ordering, reagent and supply stocking, glassware cleaning, autoclaving of plates and culture bottles, biohazard trash management.

Educational Requirements:

•High school diploma or its equivalent.


•PeopleSoft experience preferred

•One year of clinical laboratory experience, including familiarity with laboratory information systems, preferred.

•Computer and Microsoft Office literate

•Appropriate interpersonal skills for interacting with peers, patients, physicians and other customers of the Medical Center.

•Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.

Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking)Frequent sitting or standing, occasional walking and bending, occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds for distances to 10 feet. Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communications devices including: telephones, beepers, fire alarms, mechanical failure alarms. Visual acuity acceptable for performing duties of this position. Sufficient mobility to access equipment, supplies and instruments.
