specialties, including transplantation, stem cell therapy, congenital heart

Summary of Essential Duties:
As our next Nurse Practitioner, you will oversee care for
the patients in the Cardiac Surgery ICU ranging from CABG and valve
replacement/repairs to implantable VADs, Heart and Lung transplants, ECMO,
aortic dissections, and aneurysm repairs. In addition, you will perform bedside
procedures within the scope of service, write progress notes, participate in
daily rounds, write orders, dictate discharge notes, and participate in
hospital wide quality improvement initiatives. You can look forward to
collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
50% of the scheduled shifts will be days and 50% nights.
Master of Nursing Degree required
Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program required
Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License required
National Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by respective accredited professional nursing organization such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) required (or eligible to obtain)
Current NP Furnishing License required
DEA license required (or eligible to obtain)
ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required
New Nurse Practitioner graduates who are eligible for national certification will be allowed a period of one year from the date of their training program graduation to obtain national certification.
A minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
At least 2 years of experience managing cardiothoracic surgery patients or cardiac patients preferred
ICU experience required
Working knowledge of managing device patients preferred
Professional experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
