Cedars-Sinai Pathologist Assistant - Anatomic Pathology - Full Time - Days in Los Angeles, California

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has an opening for a Pathologist's Assistant.

The Pathologist’s Assistant is a professional person who is qualified by academic and practical training to provide full service in Anatomic Pathology. Responsibilities include, but not limited, to dissecting and grossly describing tissue specimens, assisting with and teaching pathology dissection techniques to residents, post-mortem examination, frozen sections, tissue procurement, coordinating teaching conferences and organizing and maintaining teaching materials. Duties may also include assisting with QA statistics reports, clinical research, and other ancillary duties. Performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the age and developmental issues of the patient population(s) being served.

Pathologist Assistant rotates with other members of the team to work weekends and has variable start time.

Educational

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a health science field.

License/Certification

Requirements:

Certified by the

American Society for Clinical Pathology as a Pathologist Assistant PA (ASCP)

preferred.

Experience:

Two (2) years full-time

pathologist assistant experience preferred. The two (2) years must be

under the supervision of a certified pathologist (certified by the American

Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology, or eligible).

Strong interpersonal

skills for interacting with peers, patients, physicians and other customers of

the medical center. Computer skills.
