The Patient Service
Representative III supports the physician and clinical staff in the delivery of
health care by performing a variety of administrative related tasks to
maintain a smooth and efficient front
ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES include the
following. Other duties may be
Collect co-payments/give receipts/reconcile
payments/batch fee tickets.
Review patient demographics and insurance
- Perform/update demographics and insurance
- Collect co-pay/insurance cards, copying
Manage patient flow.
Maintain waiting rooms.
Schedule first available appointments.
Take voice mail
messages off phones and direct appropriately.
- Answer and triage
calls, directing to appropriate individuals or departments.
Handle all telephone interactions.
Perform check-in and check-out functions.
Process and track referrals.
Handle patient/MD correspondence.
Manage all MD requests.
Schedule patients with ancillary and
Ability to train all PSR-I and PSR-II.
Respond to patient questions and complaints.
Monitor work flow/review morning and
Assist in work assignments.
Report performance issues to supervisors.
Recommend areas for improvement.
Interface/liaison with other departments.
Assist in meeting/auditing.
school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-6 years experience
- Proven track record with customer service and
- Ability to teach others about medical
terminology and insurance concepts.
- Working knowledge of master schedules and
Intermediate computer experience.
Experience with heavy phone volume.
Ability to problem solve/prioritize.
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and
insurance concepts (ability to problem solve and assist patients).
- Ability to
schedule using summary search.
- Be able to
differentiate between CSMG & CSHA, HMO, PPO, and POS; be able to follow
