Summary of Essential Job Duties:

The Patient Service Rep II - General Surgery, provides day to day clinical support. Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills in applying detailed knowledge of the responsibilities. Receive and triage phone calls in a timely manner. Essential duties include but are not limited to: answering phone calls from patients, scheduling patient appointments, filing, faxing, calling patients to remind them of their appointments, prepping patient charts for clinic, gathering clinical reports for doctor/coordinator review, data collection, database entry, scan records into the database, upload records into CSLink/Phoenix. Must have excellent and clear communication skills (oral and written). Must be able to follow-up on tasks until completed and update the Team. Basic understanding of medical terminology ideal. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook required. Must be comfortable working in a fast pace environment.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Two (2) years college preferred.

Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a medical office setting/scheduling of patient required.

  • Experience demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks frequently with short timelines, to prioritize and organize work and to complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner.

  • General understanding of Medical Terminology, Medical Terminology coursework preferred.

  • Previous work experience in a healthcare, ambulatory or outpatient setting or physician’s office, preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills for interacting with patients, payors, physicians and other CSHS customers.

  • Must possess a minimum computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windows or a comparable system (specifically including keyboarding and mouse skills).
