Cedars-Sinai Postdoctoral Scientist - Department of Surgery - Di Vizio Lab in Los Angeles, California

Dr. Di Vizio’s lab is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scientist to work independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigators and will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period. May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. Analyzes and interprets data and participates in writing manuscripts and presentations as author or co-author. Our ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of comfort working closely with cell and molecular biologists, molecular pathologists, biochemists, experts in animal models of disease, and molecular endocrinologists, including PhD scientists, students, research technicians and clinicians.

The main research direction of the group is in prostate cancer disease progression to metastases, however abundant opportunities exist for collaborations with other Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CSMC) cancer scientists focused on other disease sites. In addition to performing basic research experiment, you will be involved in the interrogation of public data, and analysis and multi-platform integration of ‘omics data sets generated across multiple basic and translational research initiatives at Cedars-Sinai. You will design and perform experiments and will keep appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyze the results with the Principal Investigator.

You may develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. Will analyze, interpret, summarize and compiles data and perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period. Operates and maintains equipment and instruments and may assist in preparation of grant proposals, but will not responsible for generating grant funds. May participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author. High level of detail, organizational and documentation ability are required. This is an outstanding opportunity to investigate molecular mechanisms with a combination of wet-lab and imaginative computational approaches to important clinical questions at one of the nation’s premier academic medical centers.

Educational Requirements:

  • Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in area directly related to field of research specialization is required


  • Experience performing basic molecular, cellular and biochemical research experiments
