Cedars-Sinai Postdoctoral Scientist - Gulati Lab - Systems Neuroscience in Los Angeles, California
As a Postdoctoral Scientist in the laboratory of Dr. Tanuj Gulati, you will use a combination of systems neuroscience and neural engineering methods, as well as causal manipulation of networks (intact/ injured) sub-serving skilled motor behaviors. One of the immediate goals is to record from motor cortex and cerebellum together as rodents learn a reaching task. You will also participate in manuscript preparation, present data at conferences, and get an opportunity to mentor Research Associates, graduate students and research interns in the lab.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
•Designs and performs experiments, keeping appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyze the results
•May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols
•Operates and maintains equipment and instruments
•Participation in laboratory meetings, keeping a lab notebook, performing calculations, tabulating data, summarizing methods and results of related experiments and general lab maintenance
- Doctorate in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or a related discipline
Experience in one or more of the following domains is highly preferred: Matlab/ Python Programming, Animal Training, Neurophysiology
Ability to function efficiently and cooperatively with a team of faculty, research associates, technicians and students
- Scheduling flexibility to include evening, weekend and holiday rotation commitment is required
