Cedars-Sinai Postdoctoral Scientist - Pathology Research in Los Angeles, California

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Postdoctoral Scientist interested in the innate immune responses of myeloid cells to join the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

Dr. Khan’s lab research focuses on understanding the role of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) in myeloid cell immune functions, particularly the immune response of neutrophils and macrophages to infections and tumor challenge (reviewed in Nat Rev Nephrol. 2018 May;14(5):325-336). We are looking for a Postdoctoral Scientist with experience preferably in the field of immunology and stem cell research.

Working independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientist, the Postdoctoral Scientist will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout the training period. A Postdoctoral Scientist may also develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols, analyze, and interpret data, and may assist in the preparation of grant proposals.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate Degree Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in area directly related to field of research specialization. Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within previous three years

  • Experienced in cell culture, basic molecular biology, and immunology techniques

  • Demonstrated aptitude to perform experimental protocols and procedures, including detailed data collection, and analysis and operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with mouse models

  • Experience handling bacterial and viral pathogens

  • Experience with iPSCs culture and differentiation
