Cedars-Sinai Program Manager - Department of Anesthesiology in Los Angeles, California

As a Program Manager, you will provide leadership and direction for the day to day operations and administrative activities for multiple Fellowship and Residency Programs within the Department of Anesthesiology. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible to contribute to planning, design, developing, and implementing program objectives, procedures, processes and standards, and ensure compliance with all ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) and GME (Graduate Medical Education) office requirements. The incumbent will oversee administrative team of program coordinator and administrative assistant.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and manage the programmatic activities of residency and multiple fellowship programs in the Department of Anesthesiology to ensure all programs are in compliance with all ACGME and GME office requirements. Responsible to obtain and maintain accreditation, including resolving any threats to accreditation that might arise.

  • Guides program coordinators and directors in operational functions of the residency/fellowship trainings.

  • Interfaces with multiple program directors (respective to each program), GME office, ACGME, residents, fellows, teaching faculties, fellowship coordinator(s), Department Chair and Department leaders.

  • Identify and define any logistics, action items, or information needed to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Develop, evaluate, recommend, and implements policies and procedures for each program.

  • Spearheads the annual process of recruitment, program orientation, organizing and maintaining academic files, preparing annual accreditation reports, and site visits.

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and organize resources to meet program objectives; and will be responsible for identifying program participants.

  • Lead, educate, and mentor staff in the development of sound judgment. Organizes and oversees assigned duties of staff and ensures timely completion. Develop and implement any appropriate education, training, onboarding, and/or mentorship pertaining to the program.

  • Research, gather, and summarize reports for evaluation of programs. Provide recommendations to program directors for areas of opportunities.

  • Responsible for managing program fiscal budgets and financials.

  • Obtain industry educational grants to support Fellowship(s).

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Management, Business, or related field is highly preferred

License and Certifications:

  • TAGME (Training Administrators for Graduate Medical Education) Certification is highly preferred


  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in management, program management or related experience.

  • Must have working knowledge of ACGME guidelines, policies, and procedures with prior working experience managing Residency and/or Fellowship Programs.

  • Experience in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders.

  • Experience managing and guiding personnel.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively

Physical Demands of role include:

  • Sit at a desk or table with some walking, standing, bending, stooping, or carrying of light objects.

  • Perform continuous operations of a personal computer for four hours or more.

  • Use hands and fingers to handle and manipulate objects and/or operate equipment.

  • Stand dynamically to perform a function and move to perform another.

  • Stand statically in one place to perform a function without changing locations.
