As Anesthesia Patient Care Specialist you will:

Under the direction jointly of the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and the Executive Director and Associate Director, Perioperative Services, the Patient Care Specialist plays an essential role in the coordination, implementation and patient experience and patient flow for Perioperative Services. Utilization of skills to effectively collaborate in the management and improvement in patient experience and follow-up of clinical events; develops targeted solutions to support organizational initiatives; proactively manages quality functions while communicating with a diverse audience.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of State, Federal and Agency standards to comply with regulations. Working knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission and other state and local regulatory requirements.

Ability to communicate expectations and priorities, and clarify roles and responsibilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. And has full command (verbal and written) of the English language.

Demonstrates commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.

Ability to effectively collaborate with other providers, including residents and fellows and leadership of other departments.

Ability to demonstrate time management and priority setting skills. Demonstrated success working independently, forging relationships, and managing multiple tasks with minimal directions.

Ability to demonstrates problem solving skills and recommends solutions. Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information for decision support.

Ability to use software applications and operate technological devices (e.g., computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.). High level of proficiency using Microsoft Windows and other Microsoft Office software: MS Excel, Outlook, Power-Point Word, etc.

Must be able to manage competing priorities, while being extremely adaptable and flexible and maintaining a positive work environment.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree - Science in Nursing - state accredited program preferred.

Bachelor's Degree - In nursing or healthcare administration profession which requires a professional license.

Master's Degree - In nursing or healthcare administration profession which requires a professional license preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration Requirements:

RN State License - Registered Nurse or other professional licensure in similar clinical background.

ANCC specialty - certification or other professional certification within specialty area preferred.

Experience:

3 years Health-care setting experience or as a provider of services to the healthcare industry.

2 years recent experience in healthcare risk and quality improvement programs preferred.

2 years experience in perioperative care preferred.

Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of State, Federal and Agency standards to comply with regulations. Working knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission and other state and local regulatory requirements. #JOBS
