- Summary of Essential Duties:
As a Clinical Nurse II (CN II) you will be a competent clinician who provides nursing care in a skilled and effective manner. Utilizing appropriate decision-making skills exhibits competence in the technical, interpersonal and cognitive skills required to independently and safely manage routine patient assignment. The Clinical Nurse II establishes a plan of care, sets goals, determines priorities, and provides care within established standards of practice.
Coordinates and provides nurse visits for a variety of surgical patients, including suture removal, staple removal, and wound care
Provides and precisely documents direct and indirect patient care services that ensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients in a timely manner
Provides comprehensive care services to complex patients, including, but not limited to, the administration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care
Demonstrates advanced assessment skills, integrating appropriate data sources to assess the signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics
Provides assistance to co-workers, new staff, temporary staff and students
Implements appropriate reporting, referrals and care in accordance with standardized procedures
Initiates emergency procedures when indicated
Demonstrates knowledge and is able to identify and make special adjustments as required to the specific populations needs, including cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family and condition needs
Functions as a change champion and agent and participates in departmental quality improvement activities
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
California State RN License required
BLS Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required
A minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience required
Med-Surg, ICU or OR experience preferred
