The path

through breast cancer care is different for everyone. Cedars-Sinai has

assembled a team of experienced experts dedicated to fulfilling our patients’

unique needs. The breast cancer program offers care for high-risk patients,

nurse navigators, fertility preservation, and research and clinical trials

found only at Cedars-Sinai. We are seeking a highly compassionate Registered

Nurse with strong clinical competencies to educate patients, respond to their

questions, obtain consent and guide them from the pre-op to post-op stages of

their treatment.

Summary of Essential Duties:

  • Providesand accurately documents direct and indirect patient care services thatensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patientsin a timely manner.

  • Providescare and patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures.

  • Providesdirect and indirect care services, including, but not limited to, theadministration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary toimplement treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care.

  • Performsskin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy and the initiation of peripheralvenous access.

  • Observessigns and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments,general behavior, and/or general physical condition.

  • Demonstratesrefined assessment skills, integrating appropriate data sources to assessthe signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance todetermine normal versus abnormal characteristics.

  • Plansand implements individualized patient care based on observations.Implements appropriate reporting, referrals and care in accordance withstandardized procedures. Initiates emergency procedures when indicated.

  • Providescare to special patient populations and patients with diverse culturalbackgrounds. Identifies patient’s readiness for learning and ability tofollow directions/instructions and give consent.

  • Demonstratesknowledge and is able to identify and make special adjustments as requiredto the specific populations needs, including cultural, spiritual, age,psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education,family and condition needs.

  • Identifiesand assesses patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmentalconsiderations. Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluateseffectiveness of intervention for patient.

  • Providesleadership to other RNs, including Charge Nurse and Preceptor duties.


  • Graduateof an accredited nursing program required

  • BSNpreferred


  • Current,unrestricted California RN License required

  • BLSfrom the American Heart Association required

  • Specialtycertification required (or willing to obtain within one year of service)


  • Aminimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience required

  • Atleast 2 years of nursing experience in an outpatient setting preferred

  • Oncologynursing experience preferred
