The Research Scientist works independently and in cooperation with the Principal Investigator to make significant and creative contributions to a research or creative project in any academic subject area.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Prioritize and lead experiments in a dynamic environment.
You are encouraged to drive at least two independent scientific projects.
Design, implement, and critically interpret experiments.
Present data at lab meetings, institutional seminars, and international conferences.
Under the direction of the PIs, assist in drafting grant proposals, study protocols, and manuscripts.
May participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author
May develop, adapt and implement new research techniques and protocols.
Analyzes, interprets, summarizes and compiles data.
Doctorate Degree Required (Acquired in the last 2 to 5 years preferred)
Completion of postdoctoral appointment in area of specialization, as applicable. Knowledge of PI’s area of research specialization. Demonstrated technical proficiency in a variety of research techniques and protocols
Technical proficiency in cell culture and hands-on mouse work (s.c, i.v, i.p. injections).
Extensive experience in flow cytometry.
Experience in using CRISPR/Cas9 tools. Individuals with experience in functional genomics techniques (i.e., screening with CRISPR/Cas9 libraries) are highly desirable
Publication track record (at least one peer-reviewed paper as the first author).
Ability to perform and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks and be highly collaborative.
Previous experience in single-cell RNA-sequencing and spatial transcriptomics (e.g., 10X Visium or GeoMX) is a plus but not required.
