What will you be doing in this role?
This position is responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and making recommendations on new business development opportunities and strategic plans. The Senior Business Development Consultant will provide business development and planning support to the leadership across the Health System. This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing reports on transactions and performing detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents. This position also assists the Vice President, Director(s), Manager(s), and Business Development staff with ensuring quality and consistency of business plans and products presented to senior leadership.
Responsible for the facilitation and presentation of completed business plans to clients to consult, guide and influence business leaders on business development opportunities. This includes lead and facilitating cross functional project groups, which could include senior leadership.
Works with Cedars-Sinai staff and leadership to define Health System growth strategies and drive the strategic planning process for the Health System and clinical departments.
Develops and completes complex business plans by identifying, retrieving, and analyzing data. Converts this into information required to make decisions and recommendations on new business development opportunities of large scope and impact to the organization. Also, creates and designs new business development approaches.
Provides direction to business development staff on assigned projects. This includes reviewing and providing feedback on data and business plans produced by staff for quality, accuracy, and consistency.
Monitors, evaluates, defines, and prepares detailed market research and/or trend assessments and analysis. This includes competitor analysis, demand forecasts, key market trends resulting from changing healthcare legislations, third party reimbursement trends and information on new technology impacting patient care.
Works with Cedars-Sinai staff and leadership to convert business analysis into implementation plans in a variety of different clinical settings across the organization by providing consulting assistance, including during and after implementation of new programs and/or services.
Evaluates operational needs for new programs, services, and technology, including staffing requirements and capital needs.
Develops detailed financial analysis (including income statements, cash flow analysis and balance sheets) and economic valuations using standard acceptable methodologies for new and/or existing programs, services, and healthcare technology to evaluate new business opportunities.
Helps direct review analyses of programs and compares their results to business plans and/or budgeting targets.
Provides staff support for all levels of leadership and physician groups across the organization.
Collaborates to problem solve and make decisions to achieve desired outcomes.
Establishes effective working relationships with cross-functional teams.
Bachelors degree required. Coursework should include planning, finance, account and business strategy.
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) required.
A minimum of 3 years' experience in planning, finance, and/or business development experience in a healthcare organization or consulting organization providing services to the healthcare industry highly preferred.

Strong research and analytical skills; Strong financial pro-forma development skills.
Ability to use software applications and operate technological devices (e.g., email, Microsoft Office, timekeeping and other applications, computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.)
Extensive knowledge and skill with various PC applications. Microsoft Office applications expert.
Ability to initiate, plan, design, execute, and monitor project(s)
Strong project management: including facilitation of work teams that create the business and strategic plans.
Knowledge of hospital, clinic, and/or medical group operations as well as understanding of local healthcare market dynamics, including competitor issues, demand assessment and payer trends.
