Under the direction of the Medical Director of Resource & Outcomes Management and in coordination with the Director of Resource and Outcomes Management, the Senior Clinical Measurement Analyst uses project management and data analytic skills to meet internal and external requirements for internal and public reporting of hospital quality data on process and outcomes measures. Provides analysis and reporting of hospital data in accordance with requirements of regulatory, governmental, voluntary agencies (e.g., Hospital Quality Alliance, TJC, Leapfrog Group, etc.) and internal needs.
Maintains knowledge base of measurement definitions and guidelines.
Monitors and supports data collection and data adjudication processes in conjunction with other hospital staff and Departments, in accordance with internal and external guidelines.
Assures data integrity.
Adheres to reporting timelines.
Provides analytic support to quality improvement teams, hospital operations, and other Departments.
Monitors and facilitates communication between CSMC and vendors and external agencies/organizations involved in public reporting of hospital quality data.
California Registered Nurse. Clinical experience in nursing with advanced clinical nursing skills and theoretical knowledge; medical/surgical hospital nursing experience highly preferred.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN
Master’s degree in a related field required, with strong preference in health care oriented degree including quantitative focus (such as Public Health or Health Administration) Preferred.
Minimum of four years experience with proven analytical, statistical/methodological health care data, organizing and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative clinical and administrative studies or reports.
Strong computer/analytic skills; intermediate –level skills in Excel and Word, required; advanced level skills preferred. Able to work with databases and write reports. Analyses include data stratification of compliance with clinical measures for specific patient populations (e.g., direct vs emergency admissions of pneumonia patients, general surgery vs gynecologic surgery, etc); development of graphical presentations of performance improvement data over time.
Strong project management skills. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Duties involve a variety of complex projects and assignments that are handled simultaneously. Each one has its own schedules, demands, and deadlines and involves intense interaction and teamwork with a variety of people of various skills and knowledge level.
Strong interpersonal skills and experience in collaboratively working with teams and individuals
