Cedars-Sinai Senior Consultant Per Diem in Los Angeles, California
Under the general guidance of the Health System’s Vice President, Operations is responsible for the overall leadership and management of key ad-hoc projects, communications, and special projects. This includes training others, including Executive and Senior Management, to those systems. Appropriate use of business analysis for strategic planning and related budget efforts.
Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Defines and analyzes problems to affect solutions, sometimes computer-related, by gathering information to reach goals and objectives, developing documentation to communicate alternatives.
Researches, proposes, oversees, writes, compiles, exercises near-final editorial judgment for selected communications from the Office Operations VP.
Follows-up on and creates specifically-designed minutes, often technically complex, for Operations.
Uses various graphical desktop published presentations interpret and demonstrate various schedules including patient volumes, operating analyses with charts/graphs of categories of revenue and expenses in total and split with various corporate grouping schemes.
Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned, including assistance lent to the Operations Department and support for Medical Center leadership.
Master’s Degree or equivalent.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, analytical and interpretive skills, including diplomatic skills to interface constructively with Executive and Senior Leadership, also with varied healthcare departments and their clinical and non-clinical leadership, Board Committee Chairs and outside agencies, venders and consultants. Ability to articulate complex problems and proposals formally and informally, effectively and diplomatically. Highly developed political skills in working with stakeholders and constituencies with interests and requirements; Ability to lead and manage through influence to consensus. Skill in public speaking and working in group settings to convey information and mediate differences. Ability to write customary business and technical documents clearly, concisely, with proper grammar, syntax, usage, and style. Broad knowledge of community and national healthcare financial trends and forces. Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Health System regulations and policies as they relate to healthcare financial analyses. Demonstrated knowledge of sound business management principles and practices in a large, teaching, research-oriented Health System and skill in applying those principles to the departmental operations. Experience with mainframe and personal computing system hardware and software including exceptionally strong mastery of Excel for financial schedules and with other graphics applications. Minimum of seven (7) years in healthcare industry. Ability, at times of competing priorities, to gather and analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop recommendations based on that analysis. Demonstrated experience in managing system and non-system projects.
