Cedars-Sinai Systems Analyst in Los Angeles, California

Job Summary:

From within the IT department, under general

supervision, supports various IT systems and is responsible for the

implementation, integration, and maintenance of the assigned system(s). Serve as the liaison with the functional

department.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Performs asliaison for EIS to the functional Department with the selected software andhardware throughout design, implementation and maintenance phases of thesystem.

  2. Coordinatescommunications and collaborates with the functional department stake holders andconcerned EIS departments to establish project timelines and implementationmilestones to achieve maximum utilization of available systems. Demonstratesability to follow-up to implement, coordinate and complete theseresponsibilities accurately within established time frame.

  3. Coordinates theplanning, requirements definition,system design, and implementation of all system applications in collaborationwith appropriate stakeholders Clearlyidentifies decision points that must be achieved to maintain the projecttimeline. Facilitates and manages there-engineering of systems and/or positions to maximize the benefits ofautomating department functions and meet client / user needs.

  4. Attains seamlessexchange of information and functionality between all components of the systemand user departments. Identifies the methodologies and approaches for providingsolutions to existing and new departmental functions. Provides leadership and promotes effectivecollaboration and teamwork among individuals from multiple disciplines, andacross the organization.

  5. May participatein user groups, advisory committees and/or feedback sessions with appropriateparticipants to generate input and on-going support as needed.Interdisciplinary participation will be sought at appropriate phases ofdevelopment and implementation.

  6. Coordinates andparticipates in system/UAT testing in conjunction with involved parties.

  7. Independently orin collaboration with others, develops user training materials and plans;leads/participates in user training.

  8. Assists withupgrade, enhancement, implementation and SDLC support forapplications/systems/software

  9. Documents andassists with change management process for technical and functional changes tosystems/software/applications.

  10. Gathers functional requirements from user departments,develops functional design and specifications documentation forchanges/fixes/enhancements.

  11. Responds promptly to customer needs.

  12. Assures systems aredesigned to conform to regulatory and Corporate Compliance requirements.

Educational requirements and/orpreferences:

  • Bachelor’s degreein Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years ofexperience as an IT systems analyst, or operational end-user in a large andcomplex environment, preferably in healthcare.

  • Consultingexperience in healthcare IT or health information a plus.

  • Experience withgathering data requirements and documentation of these requirements.

  • Basicunderstanding of business process mapping is required

  • Understanding ofthe core business processes and services delivered in assigned area.

  • Strong interpersonal skillsare required

  • Object Oriented Programming, scripting, and SQL experience a plus.
