What will you be doing in this role:
The Systems Integrator – Integration Engineer designs, develops, and implements connections/interfaces between software systems, using a broad variety of tools, such: scripting languages, programming languages, interface engines, translators, etc. Functions as a technical expert for implementation teams.
Senior contributor to a cross-functional team during the phases of the integrated solution development and delivery lifecycle that include the following phases:
Requirement Assessment: Works with inter-departmental teams to understand and help guide the analysts with technical expertise during the requirements gathering phase of a project. Works with analyst to accurately document new interfaces, improvements to existing interfaces, and implementation deficiencies that need to be addressed.
Development: Based on requirements, develops systems interfaces using programming languages, scripting languages, interface engines, translators, and other tools. Technical solutions include, but are not limited to: detailed design documentation, code, configuration files, database lookups, and transformation logic.
Testing: Leads testing effort through the unit-test and connectivity-test cycles. Works with testing team to do full end to-end integration test to gain user acceptance.
Migration: Works closely with inter-departmental and cross-departmental resources to migrate the interfaces from development environment to the test environment, and finally into the production environment. Provides effective communication across the team as appropriate. Evaluates ITG workflow to ensure all documentation is complete prior to code promotion to production.
Five (5)+ years of practical experience in a sophisticated, multiplatform environment.
Solid experience with administration and configuration of Intersystem Ensemble or other commercial integration platform.
Solid grasp with database connectivity, including JDBC/ODBC.
Intermediate knowledge of Cache, Java, and SQL. Requires ability to deal effectively with diverse skills and personalities.
In-depth knowledge of system architectures and APIs, data dictionaries and schemas, communication protocols, messaging strategies, and queueing theory.
Demonstrated understanding of HL-
- Expertise with Software Development Life Cycles and various methodologies, including Agile & Waterfall.
Educational/ Certification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Computer Sciences, or related field.
Certification in Intersystems Ensemble or other commercial integration platform. (preferred)
