What You Do in this Role:

As a member of the Trauma Team, the Trauma Social Worker provides a full range of services to all trauma patients through hospitalization. This includes, but is not limited to psycho-social evaluation, crisis intervention, resource referrals, individual and family support, interdisciplinary discussions including the coordination of family meetings, and developing and maintaining relationships with community health, welfare and social agencies. You will:

  • Coordinate resources and discharge planning for patients experiencing homelessness, and provide documentation in accordance with SB1152 requirements.

  • Conduct SBIR alcohol audits on all patients and Acute Stress Disorder screens, as appropriate.

  • Attend monthly Trauma Department Performance Improvement Committee Meeting and provide presentation of social work gathered data and outcomes (SBIR alcohol audits and Acute Stress Disorder screens).

In this role, there will be some variance in daytime Hours, with occasional weekends.


Education: Master of Social Work (MSW) required.

License: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred

Experience: A minimum of 1 year Acute Care Hospital experience required .

Demonstrated ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.

Experience working with trauma patients preferred.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
