The Department of Nursing Institute provides Nursing Research and Development at Cedars-Sinai to promote high quality patient care by assuring competent, and appropriate nursing care throughout the Medical Center. As a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN),
You will serve as a registered nurse who is an expert clinical practitioner responsible for providing consultation, education, and client management expertise for specific clinical areas.
You would be responsible for the planning and delivery of care to our patients with a newly created stoma and care of the patients with skin breakdowns.
You will offer mentorship, direction and assistance to the health care team in maintaining optimum quality.
You will work on a peer level with the Clinical Nurse Specialist.
You will deliver nursing care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care/Practice.
You will maintain competency skills including the ability to deliver care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.
You will identify the ability of the patient to follow direction/instructions and give consent.
You can identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment; and provide appropriate assessment, intervention, and evaluation to patients with consideration of development breakthroughs.

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Masters preferred
Current and active California Registered Nurse License.
Graduation from a certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing program accredited by the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses Society(WOCN®) or wound care nurse with five years' RN experience preferred.
WOCN Certified or within 1 year for external candidates.
Minimum of two years experience with special knowledge of Enterostomal care
Minimum of one year demonstrating skill in planning, teaching, and directing.
Full command (verbal and written) of the English language
- (e.g., lifting, standing, walking) The physical ability and perceptive ability to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions
