We are seeking a highly professional, skilled and compassionate Associate Director to join our state-of-the-art Procedure Center. You can look forward to a supportive environment with colleagues who are the very best in their field.

The Procedure Center provides both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsy, paracentesis and thoracentesis. It also provides services for the placement of vascular access devices including PICC lines (peripherally inserted central catheter) for inpatients and outpatients.

Summary of Essential Duties:

As the Associate Director, you will be engaged in planning, organizing, directing and controlling daily operations and clinical practice in the Procedure Center, Ambulatory Infusion Center(AIC), and Bronchoscopy Lab. You will oversee the delivery of patient care to assure safe, quality, individualized care in accordance with Medical Center philosophies. This leader assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit capital and operations budgets, clinical productivity, and monthly variance analyses. You can also anticipate serving as liaison with medical staff and other personnel to champion the maximum growth and development of each employee, ensure physician and staff satisfaction, and positive patient experiences.

  • Works collaboratively with clinical leadership to standardize nursing practice to deliver high quality clinical care, incorporating research and teaching activities.

  • Cultivates and maintains professional relationships with primary customers of the clinical area(s) including medical directors, physicians, physician groups and patients to enhance patient experience and to positively impact core clinical measures.

  • Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates systems/initiatives/programs to facilitate performance/quality improvements in keeping with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Implements rapid quality improvement interventions. Understands the benefits of standardization and how to drive its implantation through the service line to improve quality, efficiency, patient, staff and physician satisfaction

  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards and licensure requirements. Maintains staff compliance with medical center policies, procedures and protocols.

  • Responsible for planning and overseeing all dally operations and administration of the clinical departments, and supervision of staff. Lead operational aspects of special projects.

  • Manage infrastructure development and participates in strategic planning.

  • Directly manages staffing and employee recruitment and retention. Develop staffing plans based on department needs; interview and recommend hiring of new staff.

  • Manage all components of the employee life cycle. Serve as liaison for the Executive Director/Pl(s) and HR Business Partner.

  • Responsible for employee development. In collaboration with Executive Director, evaluate performance and recommend merit increases and constructive improvement plans as needed.

  • Functions as a positive, creative and effective leader, actively participating in QAPl/performance improvement activities and consulting in the implementation of training programs.

  • Recognizes the worth of her/his human resources and uses them effectively. Maintains positive work climate, ensures appropriate staff education, creates environment that fosters self-directed staff, assists employees to develop and contribute to the organization, and applies human resource policies fairly and consistently.

  • Responsible for development and management of department capital and operations budgets. Performs monthly variance analysis; identifies errors and works with the corresponding financial unit to facilitate corrections. Prepares ad hoc budgets and financial reports as requested.

  • Maintains department charge master(s) ensuring compliance with billing requirements. Engages In fiscally responsible staffing and inventory management practices.

  • Vets new technology used in the performance of clinical care. Performs profitability analyses to ensure fiscal viability prior to purchase.

Education:

  • Bachelorsof Science in Nursing degree required; Master's degree in nursing,healthcare administration, or business required.

  • Meetspecialty specific clinical competencies for assigned area(s).

License/Certification:

  • Graduateof an accredited nursing school required.

  • ValidCalifornia Registered Nurse License required.

  • Specialtycertification in field of practice required within one year of hire.

Experience:

  • Aminimum of 3 years of progressive management experience in healthcareadministration and clinical operations. Prior experience working in anacademic teaching hospital preferred.

  • Knowledgeof applicable Standards of Practice.

  • Knowledgeableand proficient in the use of health care technology within specialty area.Previous experience with EPIC Systems (EMR) strongly preferred.

  • Experiencewith performance Improvement PDSA I QAPI methodologies.

  • Demonstratedfinancial management experience and competence in developing andimplementing financial management systems in a complex organization.

  • Workingknowledge of healthcare finance, specifically facility and professionalbilling practices and variables affecting reimbursement.

  • Demonstratedcommitment to customer service excellence and an ability to meet the needsand expectations of patients and health care colleagues.

  • Excellentcommand (verbal and written) of the English language.

  • Demonstratedinterpersonal and communication skills
