Our pediatric specialists in the Maxine Dunitz Children's Health Center (CHC) provide a full range of expert care whose specialties include pediatric endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, nephrology, neurology and surgery.

As a Registered Nurse in the CHC you will work with all Pediatric specialty providers who see their patients in this clinic. You will also

  • plan and coordinate all aspects of care for Pediatric patients, with a focus on Neurology care, from initial referral to follow-up care.

  • assist the Providers in the coordination of the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, dietitians, pharmacists, and support staff.

  • work in conjunction with the pediatric providers to develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate educational programs, projects for patients, co-workers and the community.

  • assess, monitor and provide nursing care to patients throughout the clinic visit, serving as a patient advocate throughout the patient care process.

  • support other nurses in the CHC and cover additional clinical specialties when other CHC RNs are absent.

  • participate in the rotation of required clinic safety and regulatory checks and perform the intake of clinic patients.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

  • Current California Registered Nurse License.

  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years recent acute and/or outpatient pediatric RN experience.

  • Pediatric neurology experience preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to coordinate all aspects of patient care efficiently.

  • Excellent organizational skills and full command (verbal and written) of the English Language. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
